Replies/Comments to : Having lost the last time, Jay Batt runs for a 2nd term... again.

Welcome back ANYBODY BUT BATT!!!!

District A in the past 3+ years hasn't had to suffer this "politico" and his cronies. We learned our lesson.

Let's not reverse our progress by electing a buffoon and his crowd and revert to the same ole same ole where only the big $$$ talks and residents get the BIG ZERO.

I t is hard to understand how the public can be so naive or possibly so forgetful. And yet there has already been one "uptown" party for "Batt Man" , "now that Shelley isn't running".
A vote for batt..is a step back.Would the majority of us vote for the other members of the 2002 City council again? (Batt's mentor Eddie Sapir is going to actually run for Mayor-gag!)Look what has happened over the last three years. The two Cinthias who were the only holdovers of that group have been the most troublesome of todays council and have successfully slowed down the reform express led by Shelley and Stacy.
But while Batt was in everyone was happy doing nothing. (The IG position was open and no one did anything to fill the position, including Batt. When Batt pushed through an exception to to the regulations so his buddy could open a new bar in an already streesed family neighborhood he justified it as "economic development. The neighborhood was fiercele opposed and remains so. Batt says otherwise.
Don't let the city down and return to the old days. Vote for anybody but Batt.

At least Jay Batt was a responsive councilman in the City Park area. Shelly Midura has been worthless and has not responded to the needs of her constituency. She is a sad excuse of a council person. If no one better jumps in the race, I am voting for Batt. He got things done. I hope you have been happy with Do Nothing Midura who cries on the council bench. Boo hoo! That really fixes things and makes them better. Her released emails also show a lack of maturity for someone in her position.

The site says there will be people running against Batt? Who? These people need to start
pounding the bricks NOW to combat the BATT MACHINE. I've heard Cecile T. chose not to run
which is sad. Is Karen Gadbois still considering? Are there others? We who live in the District
need to know so that we can help combat the Batt Machine be talking knowledgeably about
viable alternatives with our neighbors, co-workers, friends, etc.

Wow! Jay Batt and his life-long childhood friend/puppeteer Bill "I'll take cash or a cashier's check" Kearney are back! If Jay wins and you want to get something done in District A, you'll have to hire Mr. Kearney as a "political consultant". Get ready to open your wallets people! I couln't afford Kearney and got NOTHING from Batt in return. Can't say I blame Shelly, but I hate to see her go. It was nice to have an honest one, even if just for a little while.

Hearing Batt whine that the neighborhoods didn't give him reason for not re-electing him is funny if it wasn't so sad...he was and is a self-centered arrogant joke who ignored the requests of the citizens/neighbors for the business interests-read his cronies/supporters.

Batt's Way
1) Total lack of communication with neighborhoods
2) No negotiation with opposing views ro reach as good solution...only his way or a cronie's way -
that was the Batt way.

With Batt we had four years of an arrogant do-nothing, elected to serve, who failed us.
We have had a determined Council Member and seen what can be done and this we need again.

BATT, BATT, fly away back to your cave...it'll be too bright and transparent outside in the real world.

We need to step forward...not slide backwards again.

Is Batt completely tone deaf? Here's a link to a December 21 WWL report on the race.

http://www.wwltv.com/news/Midurainfluenceincouncilrace-79853112.html

Batt's response to his opponents is "During this time of year . . . it's just not right." and he accuses them of "playing politics during the holiday season." His Trustfundness is apparently already off for the holidays four days before Christmas, while the rest of us continue to work. Get with it Jay: this race is not about some elite rules of propriety, its about a City in crisis and who will work hardest to fix it. If you're not willing to put in the time -- over the holidays or whenever, move over and let someone else take the reins. Get a job, dude.
